U.S. Government jobs increase by 0.6%

According to a report from Rockefeller Institute of Government, combined state and local government employment across the U.S. increased marginally since the recession in December 2007.

During the past year, total state- and local-government employment rose in 30 states and declined in 16, with employment in the remaining states remaining unchanged. Since the recession, state and local governments have added about 110,000 jobs, an increase of 0.6 per cent.
