Young job seekers unenthusiastic about BPO jobs.

Urban youth 'migrate' to newer and promising areas such as aviation, hospitality and retail, said the study by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).

In its study titled 'Urban Youths New Emerging Choices for Career Making,' ASSOCHAM said aviation, hospitality and retail sectors were also experiencing shortage of up to 25 to 30 per cent of skilled personnel.

"A majority of those who completed Standard XII, earlier seeking opportunities for livelihood in BPOs and call centres, were now curious to join other leisurely yet attractive areas of animation, journalism, designing (apparel, jewellery), entertainment, besides  aviation, hospitality and retail," ASSOCHAM President Venugopal N  Dhoot said.

BPOs are no longer red hot for young job seekers
